Growing the WNY Print Community Program
Mirabo Press is delighted to announce that three fully funded artist residencies will be available in 2025!
This new granting program is intended to nurture and expand our creative community by collaborating with underrepresented and emerging artists who might not otherwise have access to professional printmaking facilities or the funds to collaborate with master printers. Thanks to generous support from The Generator Fund and the Andy Warhol Foundation, we are able to offer this opportunity to spend a week with our master printers developing new print-based work. The three artists chosen for residencies will also be included in a curated group show in the fall of 2025.
Section Title
Applicants may be well versed in printmaking or new to the medium; in either case our printers are here to help. Residencies take many forms - they can be for the purpose of creating an edition of original artwork, for educational purposes, for pushing new ideas around, making one of a kind print works to further a new body of work, or for an exhibition… We design the time together to suit the individual artist’s needs. The Mirabo facilities offer access to many print processes including but not limited to: intaglio (etching), relief, monotype, digital, and screenprinting.

To be eligible for the artist residency, applicants must meet several criteria: (A)they must be an emerging or early-career artist; (B) they must be a current resident of Western New York; and (C) applicants must not be currently enrolled as students in any academic program.
Section Title
Applicants must also be prepared to spend five consecutive days in the Mirabo studio during a mutually agreed upon week during the 2025 calendar year. The residency is specifically designed to support individuals in the earlier stages of their artistic practice, regardless of age, who do not have the financial resources to pay for a residency at Mirabo Press, providing opportunities for growth and development within the local community.
It is free to apply, please see important dates below. If you have any questions about the residency program, our facilities, or your eligibility, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@mirabopress.com
